About the role of Head of HR Transformation & Deployment

Avis Budget Group is in the midst of a global transformation. Our business is transforming as we cement our position as the leader in mobility solutions, and our environment is changing through investment in new capabilities, processes and a more global way of working.

This role leads the deployment of HR transformation programs and infrastructure as well as driving end to end process excellence across the International Region (20 countries across EMEA and APAC in 13 languages). As a member of the International HR Leadership Team, this role represents the region in various global, cross functional program teams and external forums and working groups to ensure optimal standardized global solutions are fit for purpose and flawlessly implemented in the countries. As a strong project and implementation manager, this leader must be able to translate big picture strategy, platforms and program design into practical and consistent approaches to drive efficiency, improve compliance and enhance the experience of leaders and employees with HR tools and processes. Importantly, this involves identifying, highlighting and mitigating business process risks. This role works in a matrix organization reporting to the SVP Human Resources - International and the global Director - HR Transformation.

 Key Responsibilities/Duties: 

  • Understand HR transformation program objectives and expectations and their impact on the overall International Region business.
  • Provide “local” International Region knowledge to global program team to ensure regional requirements are represented and considered.
  • Work in conjunction with International Region HRLT to ensure local, suitable resource is available as required, program workload is explained, communicated and priorities understood.
  • Provide regular updates to the program team with feedback from the region.
  • Utilise expertise and leadership skills to guide team members and to resolve issues to ensure goals are met.
  • Validate workstream designs with the cross-jurisdictional and multi-functional stakeholders to ensure that it satisfies all respective requirements.
  • Participate in and provide key contributions to decisions impacting the overall design and direction of travel for each workstream deployment.
  • Work closely with the Director - HR Transformation to raise any issues that may have directional effect on other areas of the transformation program.
  • Drive end to end process excellence and compliance, developing this capability in the International HR organization
  • Manage HR SOx and General Data Protection Regulation workstreams in conjunction with corporate / group process owners

 

In-view medium term projects: 

  • Support of HR shared service knowledge base and case management technology
  • Planning, design input and implementation of learning management and delivery platform, and electronic document systems
  • Drive continued transition of HR administrative activities from countries to HR Shared Services
  • Management of SOx and General Data Protection Regulation HR workstream

  

 Key Skills and Experience 

  • Proven HR transformation experience
  • Managing regional projects within a global program - in particular, translating the global plan into regional work plans, coordination of the necessary tasks, and scheduling against competing priorities
  • Strong track record of planning and delivery
  • Change management
  • Ability to manage at the “big picture” level and at the detailed level
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work efficiently in a fast paced, dynamic and changing multicultural environment
  • Clear reporting of progress, issues, risks and financials
  • Strong stakeholder management, able to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely
  • Proven experience influencing change across multiple business functions
  • End to end process management and improvement experience

 

 Desired But Not Essential 

  • HR Information Systems experience, most ideally with Workday
  • HR generalist backgound
