Job Summary

Manages the day to day activity to enable Avis Budget to have a profitable and growing Long-Term proposition within Northern Region Markets.  This person is known as the subject matter expert, having external knowledge of the market, competitors and the Long-Term industry. Will be responsible for monitoring the market, identifying and investigating opportunities, recommending and gaining business approval for enhancements and managing the Go To Market processes (coordinating the fleet and Operations teams, briefing marketing communications and organising systems implementation).

Organisational Structure

 This person has no direct reports. This person will be required to cover for the Product Manager as requested.

They are not part of the change leader group but would need to influence activity in other departments.

Key Accountabilities

Long Term product development and maintenance:  Will define the Long-Term product for the market and manage further development and growth to targets.  Maintain the ongoing lifecycle and identify opportunities for future improvements. Work with the relevant internal departments to set up the required internal processes, systems and training.  Lead the communication of this to the relevant internal teams.

European Long-Term Propositions: Provide Local Market knowledge and support to the Central European Value Propositions team. Assist with development, pilot and launch of European Long-Term initiatives.

Analysis of the market, competitors and industry:  Gather external market and competitor product and pricing to understand the current long-term market and ongoing development of long Term propositions and fleet for the leisure segment. Use data on an ongoing basis for daily management of existing propositions.

Fleet – Work with the fleet team to research desirable fleet purchase opportunities. Compare holding costs on potential purchases against long term rental market pricing to ensure opportunities are profitable. Work with Marketing to deliver car specific promotions and customer communications. Coordinate implementation and internal communication of new deals and offers to Ops.

Pricing (leisure segment):  Work with Revenue Management and FP&A to price the Long-Term leisure propositions. Ensure reporting is in place to measure long term fleet & revenue performance against set KPIs. Lead the implementation and communication of this to the relevant internal teams.

Tracking of performance:  Establish the required reporting to track and monitor the performance of LT in the market, providing regular updates to Product Manager, Marketing Director, GM and other stakeholders. Interpret performance to make recommendations for actions to be taken which improve performance and/or propositions.

Authority / Influence over Resources

  • This is person has no authority for budgets and has no direct reports.
  • Will need to influence others within the DK, Northern region and various ABS teams.
  • As part of their development should support the Product Manager and other Marketing Executives where required.

Authority for Change

This person would not have the authority to change process or policy but would be encouraged to bring forward ideas to improve the business.

External / Internal Interaction

Internal:  Operations, FP&A, Fleet & Fleet Distribution, Revenue Management and ABS Commercial teams on a regular basis.

External: Suppliers and Marketing research agencies, where applicable

Work Experience / Background

  • 2 - 3 years’ experience of working in a product role within the car rental or leasing industry and has experience of LT products and services
  • Experience of working in a heavily commercial, fast paced environment
  • Experience of research, insight and analysis

Technical Business Skills / Knowledge

  • Fluent English and Danish language written and verbal skills
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle management and marketing fundamentals.
  • Excel
  • Experience of data warehouse systems, extracting and interpreting data
  • Experience of cross functional team work
  • Some experience of stakeholder management
  • Some experience of project management
  • Good Presentation skills and ability to articulate
